GOAL SETTING
In the next five years, I envision myself still teaching or being an assistant principal or coach.
The MSUrbanStem has provided me with instructional strategies in engaging students in learning science. My short- term goals are to implement STEM strategies in teaching biology. The first goal is to review the biology curriculum with a purpose of aligning it to NGSS evidence statements (performance descriptors).
After reviewing curriculum, the second goal is to create classroom activities for units using the TPACK instructional model. This will be used as a model across science content throughout the school year. Technology, Pedagogy, and Content Knowledge will be embedded in lesson planning. Students will be required to apply technology to demonstrate their learning. I was able to integrate this model on my Imagine IT project, students were very excited to use their phones, chrome books, and computer app to present their projects.
My long-term goals are to in-service colleagues on the integration of technology into teaching through Quick-Learns throughout the school. I plan to repurpose the use of cell phones in science classroom by showing teachers how students can use their phones for instructional purposes example, using stop motion to simulate a phenomenon.
The second long-term goal is to start an after-school program at Carver that could be expanded through summer.
